This research project is a long-term collaboration between Cardiff University, University of South Wales and the Centre for the Study of Media and Culture in Small Nations. The work is led by Prof. Ruth McElroy and Dr Caitriona Noonan.
Our research examines the capacity of small nations’ to effectively tell stories about and for themselves in a global screen landscape. We work with academics, industry and policy makers from around the world to create impactful and robust research on small nations’ screens and their sustainability.
To date we have worked collaboratively on three major funded projects and we invite you to learn more about these below.

Is comhoibriu fadthéarmach é an tionscadal taighde seo idir Ollscoil Cardiff, Ollscoil Dheisceart na Breataine Bige agus lár Ionad do na Meáin agus Cultúir Náisiúin Bheaga.

Dit onderzoeksproject wordt verricht in samenwerking met Cardiff University, University of South Wales en het Centre for the Study of Media and Culture in Small Nations.
We onderzoeken de markt voor nationale films en TV producties in relatief kleine Europese landen. We werken met universiteiten, brancheorganisaties en beleidsmakers wereldwijd om invloedrijk onderzoek te verrichten over de film- en televisie sector binnen relatief kleine Europese landen, en de duurzaamheid van deze sector.
